ultimate byron compilation
this is a list of all the kirby buckets episodes featuring principal mitchell and their relevant descriptions (i am very normal)
keep in mind that this list might not catch everything there is, and there will be some spoilers if you care about that
- season 1:
- episode 2: flice of the living dead - principal mitchell tries to escape the flice infestation through the secret emergency exit in their office and fails, the ordeal ending with eli having to shave their hair off (their hair is back in later episodes so i don't consider this exactly canon)
- episode 10: kick the buckets - principal mitchell plans to take action regarding the vandalism happening around the school, they also end up falling victim of the ridicule (with a rather innocent caricature)
- episode 13: day of the cat - principal mitchell brings their cat, laughy, to school for his birthday. kirby knocks them over in an indoor skateboarding accident and gets punished to draw laughy. it's also confirmed that byron doesn't mind the smell of cat piss
- episode 14: the rise and fall of 4th period - principal mitchell checks up on mr bostwick's history class and gets in a feud with dawn and belinda after banning hair dryers in the school. turns out byron banned them just so they could hoard the electricity needed for their own blow dryer
- episode 15: the hurt box - principal mitchell launches the annual suggestion box, with kirby's unsavory teacher zine accidentally being submitted. in a quest to get it back before it's too late, kirby and his gang find out about the secret party held by mitchell and the faculty, where all of the suggestions are being mocked. in the end, byron finds out about the zine
- episode 18: the av kid - eli and fish consider sponsoring an idea by principal mitchell. they decide to show off and possibly sell an invention byron came up with a long time ago, the fly spy. the presentation goes extremely sour after getting sabotaged by chip willis (in hopes of framing kirby) and principal mitchell has a violent breakdown. we also get to see what they looked like in high school!
- episode 19: the mother of all lies - 20 years prior, principal mitchell made a time capsule for the school that was secretly booby-trapped by kirby's mom. in the present day, she becomes a substitute teacher in order to fix what her teen self had done. her mission was not succesful and mitchell's time capsule ceremony is ruined.
- season 2:
- episode 2: failure to launch - principal mitchell makes a public school announcement, the broadcast doesn't end properly and they're caught sniffing on their hair
- episode 3: the gil in my life - dawn auditions for a singing role in a commercial, principal mitchell is one of the judges
- episode 4: the school spirit - wanting their school to finally have a school mascot, kirby takes matters in his own hands. after finding out the truth behind the forest hills high mascot, kirby and his gang revive it and things run pretty amok. principal mitchell has to save the day, with a badass outfit and an unusual katana-crossbow
- episode 6: the kirbynator - april fools (or prank williams jr day) is a big deal in forest hills. dawn plans a prank of epic proportions and kirby has to stop her. it doesn't go to well and principal mitchell gets a big nasty strip of their hair shaved off. much like with flice of the living dead, i don't consider this aspect too canon
- episode 7: balloonacy! - for the b-plot, principal mitchell runs a school-wide auction of lockers that were left behind by students that left, à la storage wars and the like
- episode 8: kirby sells out - kirby proposes to principal mitchell that he should be let in an independent study where he can draw in peace. mitchell agrees, but their agreement quickly backfires when kirby finds out principal mitchell has been using his art as "propaganda" for their new evil rules. all of this was, however, a flimsy façade to look good for the superintendent... their father
- episode 9: it's a kirbyful life! - pressured by all the art he owes for christmas, kirby wishes he were never able to draw and visits an alternate universe where this is true. in this world, mitchell is the headmaster of one "headmaster mitchell's school for troubled boys" and wishes to enroll kirby in their program after his alternate parents deemed him unruly (back to reality: fuck the tti)
- episode 11: i, gregory - kirby's unruliness causes principal mitchell to approach a new method of instilling discipline in the school - a robot hall monitor who "fines" any students caught breaking the rules. kirby kidnaps him and his disappearance doesn't go unnoticed, principal mitchell announces a $10k bounty for anyone who can bring gregory back (in their own virtual currency of course!) here it's also revealed mitchell has a cousin (they're never seen unfortunately)
- episode 13: ripper impossible - dave the ripper, notorious bully at forest hills high, is harrassing eli and kirby ultimately devises a plan to get rid of him once and for all. principal mitchell owns an archive of secrets and other sensitive information about the students, so kirby plans a heist to retrieve the suitcase containing the info, to get back at dave the ripper. it's revealed mitchell also had incriminating material on themselves inside (hmm...), and they own a pretty goofy car
- episode 14: kirby to the max - kirby confronts pearly todd, another notorious bully, and ends up placed in an impromptu trial after hurting him. kirby is then placed in "maximum detention", where the punished students have to spend their saturdays at the school that's been effectively turned into a maximum security prison. turns out the people running the detention program held an extremely questionable tickle-fighting tournament between the "prisoners". principal mitchell finds out about this by complete accident (looking for free school supplies) and is rightfully disgusted by what the students have been put up to this entire time
- episode 15: oh bros, where are thou? - principal mitchell calls in fish and eli's mothers after they, together with kirby of course, pulled an epically gross prank at school. sitting down with them, they realize the "moms" are actually actresses hired by the two to avoid getting in trouble (principal mitchell attends the community theater!). mitchell runs a book club in their office, which the two actresses end up having to attend from then on
- episode 16: twinsies - a "rare freshwater hurricane" is set to hit a nearby school and its students are made to attend forest hills high for the time being. this school's students are all stereotypical surf/beach types, so they're welcomed appropriately (principal mitchell playing into a surfer dude personality during their visit). the hurricane ultimately doesn't hit the school and the temporary students have to leave, leaving mitchell devastated
- episode 17: say uncle - principal mitchell chokes on a turkey leg and is saved by dawn... except they end up convinced it was a random stray dog who saved them. they later crown the dog a hero, dawn is obviously mad that her heroism goes unnoticed
- episode 18: when mitchell met dad - the gay episode i went into more detail here. principal mitchell loves kirby's dad, nautics (and is ironically ridden by seasickness), sandra bullock, and home-made guac
- episode 19: mitchell's gauntlet - each year principall mitchell runs a medieval-gauntlet-themed laser-tag-type game at school, with the prize being all the items they've confiscated from students throughout the year. they take the game very seriously, becoming a "principal warrior god" and donning war paint and an outfit to fit
- episode 21: tunnel babies - fish and eli are dealing wigs in school and principal mitchell wants to crack this wig business down. they reveal that they've banned wigs because they are extremely face blind and a simple wig is enough for them to not recognize a familiar person. theyear prior they invited lebron james at the school, only to find out after the event that "lebron" was just a short, lanky, nerdy white kid dressed up in his uniform (HOW DO YOU FUCK UP THIS BADLY BYRON??)
- episode 22: buckets of money - dawn starts some kind of cult at school which principal mitchell ends up joining somehow. some time before that, they wanted dawn and her followers out of the classroom they were in, so they could "not stage cat versions of musicals"
- episode 23: torched - inspiration porn episode ngl but principal mitchell has a sick bass guitar here at least...
- episode 24: me time: the ballad of mac and mom - kirby finds a portable cd player with a song from his mom's teen band misery pit. listening to the song transports him back in 1994, where he tries to make the ongoing talent show run smoothly for his mom, who in the present day was in a feud with mac mccallister following this event. principal mitchell looked... interesting back then, though their appearance back then was actually first shown in a s1:e19 flashback. it's also revealed that they severely neglected the assistant principal from back then, a sulphur-crested cockatoo, by locking him in the basement for 20 years
- episode 25: battle of the ballot - kirby is once again punished, this time for throwing a party in the principal's office (without inviting the principal themselves!), this time having to spend 100 lunches with principal mitchell. mitchell seems to actually enjoy kirby's company, sharing good food with him and willing to talk about it with him. in the end, kirby gets pardoned and instead dawn has to take his place after cheating in the student president election (WHY WOULD ANYONE EVER DISLIKE SPENDING SO MUCH TIME WITH PRINCIPAL MITCHELL???)
- episode 26: the goods - principal mitchell participates in mac mccallister's show idea contest with the story of a school principal in outer space. they wear a neat sci-fi costume during the presentation.
- season 3 (including alternate mitchells):
- episode 1: yep, this is happening - after kirby and dawn set out to rescue their parents from whatever alternate dimension they might be trapped in, principal mitchell has to keep the ordeal a secret while a surprise party is being organized downstairs. mitchell plays along accordingly and becomes the dj at the party. they also seem to love scarlett johansson
- episode 2: bad seed - principal mitchell explains all the rules of inter-dimensional travel to kirby and dawn, all while drinking a comically large amount of black tea
- episode 4: forest hills blues - principal mitchell warns kirby about alternate mitchells, claiming that they will throw him in "jail dimension" if he's discovered. in this episode's dimension, kirby is a buddy cop and his partner turns out to be mitchell themselves. this mitchell sports a bushy mustache, a bob ross fro, and a huge love for meatball subs
- episode 6: the unpranked - prank williams jr day once more. principal mitchell hires dawn as their personal prank assassin for the day, claiming that they will inflict a ridiculous punishment onto kirby after he stole the orb. aside from faces, mitchell also seems to have a hard time recognizing familiar objects
- episode 7: commander kirbo - in a star trek/star wars like dimension, byron is lord mitchell, an evil goth space tyrrant who is also a huge dork
- episode 8: dr mac n cheese's labyrinth of horrors - for his parents' anniversary, kirby brings his family on a vacation to a dimension deemed "the best vacation ever" by mitchell. the vacation quickly turns sour as they find out the dimension is actually a saw-esque maze ran by a sentient guinea pig. kirby then remembers about mitchell's obsession with mazes, and the description now makes complete sense. in the meantime, principal mitchell holds a séance with fish, eli, and gil at the s&p to find out who their dead pet guinea pig truly belonged to
- episode 9: closing time - kirby becomes obsessed with the orb and hopping from dimension to dimension. principal mitchell warns him about the dangers of abusing the orb, which end up becoming real. in order to stop kirby's obsession, mitchell brings him in a dimension where he can wrestle his "demons" (in this case the orb itself)
- episode 10: a tale of two kirbys - lord mitchell ends up in our dimension and thus begins their evil plan of conquering this dimension, and soon the entire multi-dimensional universe. inhabiting principal mitchell's body is not as easy, with the two having to fight out their dominance in mitchell's inner world (i really don't know how to word this better)
- episode 11: that sinking feeling - kirby and the gang get sent by lord mitchell to a desolated desert dimension. there they find the alternate mitchell who's been living inside an s&p that's been engulfed by the sands. this mitchell has obviously gone a little crazy, spending their entire time underground making tabletop games, namely game: the game
- episode 12: orbed and dangerous - returned to their home dimension, kirby and co try to take down lord mitchell, who's been turning more and more people into their minions, tasked to retrieve more orbs to make them stronger. lord mitchell's entire running motivation was their childhood trauma of their father obliterating them at basketball
- episode 13: yep, still happening - kirby's training with mitchell prime is interrupted by lord mitchell, who forcefully brings him back to the home dimension, forcing him to draw insulting pictures of people they don't like. kirby ends up devising a plan to get rid of lord mitchell once and for all. things work out and go back to normal, with principal mitchell regaining access to their body and announcing they'll be retiring from both dimensional gatekeeping and being a principal. at the end of the episode kirby boards a bus driven by another alternate mitchell who wants to take him on an epic journey (that we never get to see :( ), where he also reunites with his ocs
